This photo will always be special to me. I shot this image deep in Yellowstone National Park in the middle of November. This was one of my first times in the park in the winter. November would be early winter in New England, but in Yellowstone it was only a few degrees above zero and a foot of snow covered the Lamar Valley. In the evening, on our way back to our campground, we came upon a herd of elk bedding down on one side of the road and this group of four crossing to join them in front of the setting sun.
